Thecommunicationadapter(safetytypeIP20)isattachedtotheI/Obasemaking

aconnection.Snapontabslocktheadapterinplace.Theadaptercanbe

releasedwithascrewdriver.

WiththeI/Obasethereisalabelshipped.Itfitsintoanareaonthefrontsideof

theadapter.Inthislabel,youcanwritethesignalnamescorrespondingtothe

wiredfielddevices.Ontherightsideofthislabel,thereisaclearwindowto

identifythetypeoftheCommunicationAdapter.

Function

Thecommunicationadapterhastwoports(anincomingremotebusandan

outgoingremotebus)implementedasRS485interfaces.Theincomingremote

busisisolated.TheinterfacesmeetInterbusstandards(DIN19258).Eachnode

regeneratestheentiremessagestreambeforepassingitonthenextnode.As

eachnodehandlesthemessagestream,itextractstheportionofthemessage

thatisassignedtothatnodeasinputdata(intothenode),andaddsoutputdata

(fromthenode)tothemessagestreamasapplicabletothattypeofnodedevice.

ErrorControl

Theinternalvoltagesupply(Vcc)isprovidedbytheI/Obase.Vccismonitored

andaResetsignalisgeneratedifandwhenVccisnotwithintolerance.The

isolatedvoltage(Vcx)fortheInterbusinterfaceisgeneratedviaaDC/DC

converterandisnotcontrolled.

ASerialMicroprocessorInterfacecontrolsthreedisplayLEDswhichindicatethe

datatransfer(BusActive,RemoteBusCheck,RemoteBusDisabled-referto
